ICS Electronics are pleased to announce that their TC4 MF/HF and VHF
GMDSS DSC System for Yachts has been approved under the European Community
Maritime Directive and has been Wheelmarked accordingly.
The TC4 was fitted in all the yachts in the BT Global Challenge 2000
– 2001 race and was also fitted in the ill-fated Team Philips catamaran.
Many competitive GMDSS communication systems are physically large,
complex to operate and relatively expensive. By using a large touch screen
data display, which provides common operating procedures for both the VHF
and the MF/HF transceivers, combined with a compact remote electronics
package which can be mounted anywhere, ICS Electronics Ltd. offers a
complete GMDSS system which is easy to use, moderately priced and can be
fitted within even the smallest navigation area.
The TOUCHCOMM TC4 system is one of a range of GMDSS DSC systems in
widespread use in commercial ships, navies and coastguard vessels
worldwide and is mounted in a cost reduced package. It comes complete with
VHF transceiver, MF/HF transceiver and antenna tuner, and is relatively
simple to install. It is suitable for mandatory fit on fishing vessels
within GMDSS area A2 coverage of the coast, or for voluntary fit on yachts
operating in unrestricted waters, worldwide.
The recommended list price of the complete TC4 System is £5,595
excluding VAT. However in certain cases, it may be possible to utilise the
existing transceivers and thereby reduce the cost. ICS are willing to
supply a list of compatible radios upon request.
