Chemring Group PLC has announced the acquisition of ICS Electronics
Ltd, the Arundel based manufacturer of commercial and recreational marine
electronics products.
ICS Electronics Ltd. is a world leader in the design and manufacture of
communications equipment used in the commercial and leisure marine sector.
This includes radio communication systems, satellite communication
terminals, weather facsimile and satellite systems, and coast radio
stations.
The ICS business will form part of Chemring Group’s marine business,
which is based at McMurdo Limited, in Portsmouth. The ICS product range
compliments McMurdo’s marine safety products, which include satellite
distress beacons, search and rescue transponders, personal location
devices, man overboard location systems, VHF radios, and Universal
Automatic Identification System (UAIS), a new communication and
identification system for commercial vessels.
