Reason for issues:
To correct operation and display of date related functions contained within the ICS FAX III used after the 1 of January 2000.
Procedure:
- Download FAX3_Y2K.ZIP.
- Extract the contents of FAX3_Y2K.ZIP to the root (A:\) of a newly formatted floppy disk.
- Label disk as "ICS FAX III V5.3 upgrade, February 2000".
This disk now contains files which are a replacement for FAX III Version 5.1 (disk 1 only), its installs as Version 5.3 over the top of the existing installation.
Run installation from disk 1 alone, it is not necessary to install a disk 2.
Usage:
- Put "ICS FAX III V5.3 upgrade, February 2000" in drive A:.
- Type A:\INSTALL.
- Select F2 from the installation menu.
- Specify destination directory of existing SVFAX5 files or hit ENTER to accept the default C:\SVFAX5.
- Hit Y key to continue installation.
- If the installer asks if you want overwrite any existing files hit 'Y' for yes.
- When prompted to insert Disk 2, hit ESC key.
- Hit F10 key to quit installation menu and be returned to DOS prompt.
The upgrade is now complete, start FAX III as before using the C:\SVFAX5\FAX command.
