ICS Electronics established in 1982 is one of the most experienced suppliers of Marine Electronics Systems in the world. The NAV6 range of high quality NAVTEX receivers has lead the market for over 10 years.
In January 2019 ICS launched the new NAV6 Series V3. Our new products offer greater flexibility, increase functionality and easier system navigation. Based on the same proven technology as our award winning NAVTEX receivers, the new NAV6 Series V3 NAVTEX systems have a new receiver design that now includes a barometric pressure sensor.
The new V3 systems are modular, comprising three key components, the display unit, the receiver module and the antenna. The V3 display unit has new easier to use software, an update to the NAVTEX transmitter stations database and new display views, including a digital barograph.
Our systems use simultaneous dual frequency NAVTEX reception on 490kHz and 518kHz. The new NAV6 systems also benefit from automatic station selection based on current location and comprehensive instrument repeater displays when connected to NMEA data.
Following the principles of the previous NAV6 range, the V3 NAVTEX receiver module is a new design making use of latest electronics to give improved performance, connectivity and an all new barometric pressure sensor.
The ability to predict the weather is essential when at sea. The rate of change of barometric pressure and wind speed data can be invaluable in predicting imminent weather conditions. Unlike analogue barometers, the ICS barometric display provides a high-resolution digital barograph that can scaled and scrolled over the previous seven days. It provides reliable, clear information that is easily operated from the NAV6 display or eNAVTEX App on a PC. The multi-function capabilities of the NAV6plus with the new integrated barometric displays are perfect for reducing the number of instruments required onboard.
All the benefits of the new NAV6 system V3 are also available to existing NAV6 owners via our software and hardware upgrade program. For more information on upgrade options click here or to speak to one of the team, click here.
